Strings Restaurant: One Hip Eatery

As the crown jewel of the booming Uptown neighborhood, Strings has been captivating foodies for many years with high-quality cuisine served in a pristine environment. The menu sits firmly in the New American camp, but the execution is dramatic and exciting. Their signature dishes win tremendous accolades from diners. Chef Lance Berto has risen through the ranks in the kitchen, and he brings many years of expertise to Strings. Regulars adore the breakfast dishes—the firemen’s eggs, served atop a flaky, buttery brioche, are indescribably good, and the crepes are top flight. But all menus are very good – with a variety of tender, freshly made pastas working hard in concert with delicious sauces. Budget-conscious diners head in for Happy Hour, where delicious appetizers come at very reasonable prices.

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery: Better Than An Alarm

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery a breakfast-only spot, has earned the reputation as one of the very best places in Denver to start your day off right. If you can roll out of bed early enough to get a coveted table, you’ll join the ranks of the converted. Start your day with coffee, and regulars insist that the java at Snooze is top-notch (and high-test). Upon opening your menu, you’ll find that their food is sourced from some of the best places in the country, putting a premium on fresh, organic, local ingredients. The only drawback is that there’s almost too much to choose from, but some of the highlights include the amazingly delicious red velvet pancakes, the breakfast burritos stuffed to overflowing with ingredients and slathered in green chile, and the scrambles, which can be customized in hundreds of different ways to suit your taste preferences. Snooze also serves lunch, which is just as good. Keep in mind that the wait for a table at Snooze can be a little long (stretching up to an hour on weekends) but it’s well worth it.

Paramount Cafe: American Cuisine with a Twist

If you're looking for a reasonably-priced meal, guaranteed to pack a solid mouthful of flavor, then look no further! Paramount Café is a true American grill that has become one of the most popular spots in Denver. Their menu takes classic American fare and kicks it up a notch or two, and regulars here rave about the excellent burgers. If you want something a little different, go for the BBQ elk burger, which couples the local game with bacon, Jack cheese, and grilled onions. For something on the (slightly) lighter side, order up the turkey and avocado on a croissant with sweet potato fries – it will not disappoint. If you have room, the desserts are decadent and inspired. Try the house special cheesecake burrito for a real treat. On warmer days, take a seat on the popular streetside patio and watch the foot traffic go by. The Paramount Café also offers an incredibly popular double happy hour – twice a day, seven days a week, great deals on drink specials and appetizers abound.
